Why local recycling? Our approach will reduce Port Townsend’s CO2 emissions by more than 100 tons a year. We will not transport our plastic hundred or thousands of miles away. We will also process all plastics ourselves and ensure nothing we recycling goes into single-use products but only durable long term products with inherent value to our community.

Our process is 100% mechanical and creates no waste. Our operation is a typical shop operation requiring work place safety from dust and machinery.

Currently the City of Port Townsend spends nearly $200,000 on the management of recyclables. The majority of those tax dollars is spend on fuel and maintenance of garbage trucks. We can support 6 full time positions here in Port Townsend to collect and process our own community’s plastics and in doing so we would reduce up to 100 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.
